Sally: "Nothing can ever prepare or affect you as much as when you receive the horrible news no one wants to hear, you have cancer".
Not only did she watch her bother suffer and pass away from the side effects of his chemo, but she also had to watch her own mother pass away from Pancreatic cancer a few years before. Although the doctor told Sally she was a great candidate for Lumpectomy, she decided to have a Mastectomy to avoid the possibility of a re-occurrence which unfortunately happened a year and a half later.
Sally:" Making a choice for my health was one of the toughest choices I have ever faced, but chemo is not for everyone, everyone is different, and with my personal experience and after a lot of prayer, I decided to look for alternative methods. I discovered the amazing healing powers in food and became a vegan, gave up animal products, all sugars and processed foods. I learned so much that I could not keep the information to myself and began to share it with all my family, friends and anyone else who would listen. I am happy to know how God has used me to help so many people be aware of their own health to prevent this devastating disease. With my faith in God first and my new healthy lifestyle, I will continue to fight this Cancer. I live each day to the fullest and cherish every moment that I can with my family and friends. I will remain strong in my faith no matter what happens in the future and keep living knowing that everyday it’s a gift from God and should not be taken for granted"
It amazes me that when someone is dealt not the best of cards, they still take those cards and build the best with them that they can. I don't know this family as well as I would like to, but the short time that I was with them, and the story that Sally sent me touched me. I can see how blessed she feels to have what she does have, and appreciates it every day. I am a true believer that god does not give us a situation that we cannot handle and this whole family is living proof of that. My prayers are always going to be with you and your family <3
